ENGR 113: Medical Robotics for Minimally Invasive Surgeries
Group 3
Electrical & Coding Design
Simon is a freshman electrical engineering major at Drexel
University. With some experience in circuit design, he is heading the electrical design aspects of the project. He is an active member of the Drexel Racing FSAE EV team where he has garnered most of his experience in the field. He has some experience with arduino coding and use, which he hopes to use to assist the team. He hopes that this project will further his skills in these fields as well as developing other design related skills.
Gary Friedman | gf29@drexel.edu
Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Friedman is an electrical and computer engineering professor at Drexel University. He obtained a PhD at University of Maryland College Park in 1990. He was a faculty member int he Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois from 1990 to 2001. He, then joined Drexel Univeristy in 2001. Since, 2004, he joined the Department of Surgery at the Drexel College of Medicine. Some of his research interests include magnetic sensors, miniature Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) systems and Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems(MEMS).
Daniel Dinu | ddd73@drexel.edu
Image Processing & Software Design
Daniel is a freshman electrical engineering major at Drexel University. He hopes to learn how the image processing and motor control will work in tandem despite being coded in two different languages. He is a part of the Drexel DragonsTeach program where he is simultaneously pursuing his STEM degree as well as working towards certification for secondary education. He also resides as the sitting event coordinator for Drexel TechServ, a student organization that refurbishes and donates computers to those in need.

3-D Printing & Mechanical Design
Laxmi is a freshman electrical engineering major at Drexel University. She hopes to learn how to use 3D modelling software such as Autodesk, 3D print parts and use machinery. Back in high school, she was part of a robotics team where she lead a teams building mechanisms like the chassis of the robot. Also, she is a part- time private math tutor who teaches kids from grades 3 to 12.
